Rainbow Springs Nature Park Wayfinding System
Drawing inspiration from the practical charm of DOC and national park signage, the wayfinding system is a collection of totem poles built around intentional simplicity.
A new 'rainbow' palette does the navigational work: each attraction is distinguished by its own colour, and these clusters of bright tone become guiding beacons amid the dense, native foliage. The totems themselves are crafted from raw, locally sourced macrocarpa sleepers, echoing the sustainability ethos of national park signage, and produced using router paint-filled techniques for durability and easy maintenance.
Location planning was grounded in defined journey mapping, allowing a swift, confident rollout. Ground staff played a pivotal role throughout, embodying the brand's ethos of hands-on involvement and ensuring a seamless implementation.
The result is a wayfinding system that feels at home in its landscape: sustainable, legible, and unmistakably part of the park.
