Mall of the Emirates Shopper Navigation System
Mall of the Emirates is one of Dubai's most iconic retail destinations — 255,000m² across multiple levels, home to 630+ retailers, 100+ restaurants and cafés, and landmark attractions including Ski Dubai. At that scale, welcoming millions of visitors a year from across the Gulf and beyond, the visitor experience faces real demands.
Despite a world-class retail offer, shoppers were meeting friction at every stage. Arrival and parking, in-mall orientation and store discovery, and the digital touchpoints meant to support them along the way.
We set out to understand exactly where the experience was breaking down, then developed a more considered, connected navigation strategy and system design spanning both physical and digital touchpoints.
The strategy was independently tested and validated by IPSOS across 400 shoppers, achieving an 81% improvement in navigation confidence and wayfinding success.
